Culture fit fails as a score. It works as a read.

Most culture fit tools promise a number: this candidate is an 84 for your team. That number is where the trouble starts, for the candidate and for you. VEX takes the other road. Know your own culture first, honestly. Then let a consented read prepare the human who makes the call.

Read your first candidate free First read free. No card. The candidate consents first and owns their read.

Where culture fit goes wrong

Two failure modes, both expensive. The first is fit as sameness: the team hires people who feel familiar, and the room narrows one comfortable hire at a time. The second is fit as automation: a tool scores candidates against a culture profile and quietly becomes a screen. Automated employment decision tools now carry real regulatory weight, from New York's Local Law 144 to state laws following it, and a score you cannot explain is a liability you cannot defend.

Underneath both failures is the same gap: most companies have never honestly read their own culture. You cannot assess fit against a room you have not seen.

The two-step that works

01

Read the room first. The Culture Packet renders your company as it actually operates, from consented reads of your own people.

02

Invite the candidate. They consent, take an eight-minute read, and own the result. You get interview prep: how this person shows up, and the questions that will actually surface them.

03

A human interviews, and a human decides. The read informs the conversation. It never produces a score, a rank, or a recommendation.

The lines we hold

  • VEX never scores, ranks, or rejects a candidate, and never outputs a number on a person. There is no score to screen with.
  • It infers nothing about emotion, health, disability, or any protected characteristic.
  • The candidate consents before anything is read, owns their read, and may request a non-AI alternative or an accommodation.
  • It is decision support for a human interviewer, never the basis of the decision. Confirm your own counsel's read of local law; we built for the strictest one.

Straight answers

Is VEX an automated employment decision tool?
VEX produces no score, no rank, and no hire or reject output, which is the category those laws regulate. It renders interview preparation for a human decision-maker. Have your counsel confirm how your jurisdiction applies; the design goal was to have nothing to audit.
Does the candidate know?
Always. Consent comes first, in plain language, and the candidate owns their read afterward. A candidate who declines simply interviews the ordinary way.
What do I actually receive?
One page before the interview: how the person shows up under pressure and the questions that will land. Think of it as the prep a great recruiter would give you, grounded in behavior instead of the resume.
What does it cost?
The first candidate read is free with no card. Then Solo is $199 a month, flat. The Culture Packet for the team side is $2,490 one time.

Interview the person, not the resume. First candidate read free, no card. For the team side, the Culture Packet reads the room the candidate would join.
